“From the beginning, we dared to be different and all of you supported us. Thank you!”Amadeus

Amadeus is one of the most appreciated all-female electric quartets worldwide. Their constant and ingenious combining of classical and modern elements has certified this group as one of the most popular artists in the realm of classical crossover music. Their mission has always been bringing the youth close to classical music, inspiring them to start learning how to play an instrument. Amadeus is proud to be a Yamaha Europe Artist.

Back in 2000, they, along with the Bond Quartet, were the first in the world to use an all-electric instrument array in order to achieve the perfect blend of classical and modern, thus actually creating a new musical style. They gained popularity in Romania first and very soon they went internationally. Until 2010, they released five record albums with a major label and performed around the world.

Since then, they have been independent. The next ten years were filled with international tours and many successful music videos. These were mostly renditions of famous songs. In 2020 they released an anniversary album with original music, Joy.

Joy is a 100% independent project, all DIY, that took its toll of sacrifices, but also brought a lot of happiness. This means that every song contains important parts of the soul of Amadeus, impatient to touch the souls of fans around the world.

The album includes Amadeus’ interactions with thousands of stages in hundreds of cities all around the world. Concerts in which the musicians felt that their music is the unifying vibe in the souls of hundreds of thousands of people of different colors, religions, and ethnic backgrounds.  The album Joy is a musical mirror of each one of the four Amadeus members.

‘Joy’ has 14 songs and belongs to the new age musical genre, with musical influences that have been present for years in the music of Amadeus – cinematic, gospel, new classical, and the traditional music of various cultures. For this album, they worked with Xenti Runceanu, who is the composer and producer of the group. The album has two tracks featuring Faizan, a Maldivian percussionist.

All four artists – Andreea Runceanu (violin), Bianca Gavrilescu (violin), Patricia Cimpoiasu (cello), and Laura Lazarescu (piano and lead vocal) – are professional musicians, instrumentalists, and also singers. They are graduates of the National University of Music in Bucharest, Romania, with great achievements in classical music performing. Amadeus has been performing on stage, as a group, for more than years. In all these years, Amadeus never stopped bringing people of all backgrounds closer to the joys and wonders of classical music.

Amadeus has played on four continents so far. Their music is greatly appreciated both in Europe, where France, Spain, Italy, and the U.K. are usual stops for the group, as well as in South America or Asia, where they have been repeatedly invited to perform with great public success.
